Thanks for replacing these bridges. We will be returning for our annual backpack trip to the Lost Coast in early June. Thanks for the work you do to preserve and protect this spectacular area.

    Hi Paul,
I am interested in hiking the entire north and south route of the lost coast trail with my girlfriend. I was wondering if I could potentially leave a car at both the Northern and southern trailheads for a few days during the hike? I am mostly curious is this is advisable and legal and if there are ever problems with vandalism? Also about how long would it take to hike the entire trail (both north and south route)? Thank you

Yes, you can leave a vehicle at both the northern and southern trailheads. To avoid becoming a target of vandalism do NOT leave any valuables in your vehicle. However, I am unaware of any recent issues with vehicle vandalism at the trailheads. Give yourself at least 6 days to hike the entire Lost Coast Trail. 3 days on the northern section (although I think 4 is more enjoyable) and 3 days on the southern section.
